Abu Dhabi: The National Admissions and Placement Office (NAPO) of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced that July 9 is the deadline for making amendments to applications submitted by 12th grade students in the current academic year, who wish to enrol in government higher education institutions.

The government higher education institutions are UAE University, Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University, the institutes and colleges of the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Emirates College for Advanced Education, and scholarships abroad for the 2015-2016 academic year.

NAPO has carried out a number of integrated academic counselling programmes for 12th grade students for the 2014-2015 academic year through field visits to all public and private schools and technical institutes in the country, in order to raise awareness and introduce students to the admission and registration process at government educational institutions, higher education programmes and opportunities available for students, and the mechanism of registration and acceptance for scholarships provided by the ministry, in addition to private universities in the country and their accredited programmes.

The ministry annually seeks to familiarise high school students with the atmosphere of university through academic counselling programmes, in addition to opening early registration to have enough time to determine the disciplines and programmes of study they wish to join.

The ministry also enables them to modify their choices after they submit enrolment applications, through to the final declaration of the names of students admitted to public higher education institutions.
