Dubai: GEMS Education has appointed Tracy Moxley as Head of Global Citizens Connections to build stronger ties among all of the firm’s schools internationally.

Moxley, who has a background in educational leadership has worked for the company for three years including roles within GEMS Wellington Academy, Silicon Oasis and more recently, GEMS Dubai American Academy.

Tracy is a published author on the Middle Years programme and is a co-founder of a unique NGO set up and led by students, supporting peers in developing projects in Spain, India, Morocco and Uganda. She holds a Master’s degree in media education from the Institute of Education, University College London, and has recently embarked on a PhD in global citizenship education.

“I am incredibly excited to create a unique and exceptional experience for GEMS students. With schools in 13 countries globally, students will be able to connect virtually and, much more significantly, have a life-changing experience using the GEMS network of schools. In this way, we can provide a truly enriching global education, without interruption to academic studies,” said Moxley in a statement on Sunday.

Tony Little, Group Chief Education Officer, GEMS Education, noted in a statement: “A major goal is to develop sustainable and meaningful links and partnerships between our schools that range from shared curricula to student exchanges and activities.”
