Dubai: The Ministry of Education has approved four companies to supply meals to 50 per cent of government schools. The agreements with the companies were reached in cooperation with the Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation.

The move marks the beginning of cafeteria expansion and improvement operations in order to ensure the quality of food provided to pupils.

Earlier, the ministry began carrying out procedures for inspecting and approving samples of food that will be provided by the four approved companies, at a time when ministries are preparing to address schools to reaffirm the importance of preserving the health of pupils, as well as their food safety and raising awareness for pupils resorting to foods from other unidentified sources.
