Dubai Dubai Women's College (DWC) recently hosted a presentation on entrepreneurship, in association with Young Arab Leaders and Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation.
The presentation was held at Dubai Women's College campus with Faisal Bin Juma Bel Houl, prominent Emirati businessman and entrepreneur, as the key speaker.
The presentation was part of a Speakers Series, supported by three local organisations dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship among the region's youth: The Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, Dubai Women's College and Young Arab Leaders Organisation.
Dr Howard Reed, director of Dubai Women's College, said that the support and contribution of Young Arab Leaders and Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation is a true demonstration of their commitment to developing Emirati leadership through entrepreneurship and how organisations can partner together for the benefit of all.
The presentation, which was attended by DWC students as well as representatives from business, academic, professional and institutional arenas, highlighted the importance of inculcating entrepreneurship in the Emirati youth to capitalise on local business opportunities. One of the key messages in the presentation is that entrepreneurship is the need of the hour and that there is a great need for innovation in the entire value chain of business activities.
"Entrepreneurship is about a big dream, which starts small", said Bel Houl, who has extensive entrepreneurial experience within the GCC, and is committed to developing the entrepreneurial spirit amongst young people in the UAE. He went on to praise the sponsoring organisations for supporting entrepreneurs .
Nao Valentino, DWC Business Faculty member, said that promoting entrepreneurship and supporting budding business men and women is vital to development in UAE.
