Dubai: The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and Dubai School of Government signed an executive education contract to improve and promote governmental employee’s leadership skills.
Around 30 governmental employees will take part of the Advanced Leadership Development Programme with the aim of strengthening Dewa’s human capital development through workshops, seminars and specialised training programs.
DSG will also provide Dewa with on-the-ground support during visits to the UK for educational purposes by drawing on its international partnerships.
The contract that was signed by Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dewa and Tariq Hilal Lootah, executive president of DSG will come into effect on December 17, 2012.
“Dewa is committed to utilising all available efforts and resources to further improve the capabilities of all our associates. Through this approach, we constantly engage in active partnerships and MoUs with local and international organisations to develop operations in line with world-class standards to become a sustainable world-class utility” said Al Tayer.
“Through this initiative, we shall be able to equip our associates with the skills they require across all fields — from staff management, advanced strategic thinking and leadership skills, to advanced negotiation, financial studies for non-financial directors, and the basics of macroeconomics, dynamic governance and risk management amongst others,” he added.
This is the third group of governmental employees to undertake a programme to improve their leadership skills under the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai’s vision in progressing Dubai on all fronts.
