Dubai: The National Commission for Education, Culture and Science discussed its future plans and strategy with education institutions and government bodies.

The commission’s first meeting, chaired by Hussain Ebrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, also witnessed the launch of the commission’s official website, which will serve as a reference for information and data concerning the commission’s activities and future approaches.

Amal Al Koos, the commission’s secretary-general, said that there are 11 days left to evaluate the commitment of 111 Emirati schools that are members of the Associated Schools Network of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco). The evaluation project aims to identify the member schools that are effective in applying the conditions and standards for achieving the goals of Unesco.

Meanwhile, Al Hammadi said: “We are looking forward to forging more partnerships on a local and international level that will help us boost indexes pertaining to education, culture and innovation.”

He emphasised the importance of continued development in terms of ideas and views that serve the commission’s efforts, in addition to bolstering partnerships and cooperation with the four bodies that come under Unesco.
