Dubai: Around 18,000 Emiratis visited the 15th edition of Careers UAE that concluded on Thursday.

The event attracted over 160 private and public sector companies seeking to hire talented Emirati graduates and professionals.

The exhibition included a diverse range of career and internship opportunities in industries such as aviation, education, energy, engineering, financial services, hospitality, retail and technology.

This year, Careers UAE, saw a significant increase in private sector exhibitors with 90 participating companies, increasing the year-on-year involvement of private sector representation by 29 per cent.

The participating companies included Dubai Police, which had 261 job vacancies on offer, Enoc had 200, Dubai Air Navigations (DANS) had 80, The National Bank of Abu Dhabi had 100, The Dubai Government Human Resource Department offered 1,500 jobs across 35 government department and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority allocated 300 jobs.

Speaking at the last day of the exhibition DANS- the air navigation services provider for Dubai and the Northern Emirates- which participated in the exhibition for the very first time said they had a very successful experience and received 600 applications.

“Being present in the Career fair provides the organisation with the necessary platform to access the right pool of talent we are seeking in UAE nationals. DANS is providing several unique career opportunities to Nationals in order to excel in their careers, through its National Development Programme. The programme offers the unique opportunity of working as an Air Traffic Control Officer, Air Traffic Engineer and in Operations,” Masooma Jaffry Head of Human Recourses at DANS.

The Exhibition saw Reem Al Hashemi, UAE Minister of State, Director-General, Bureau Dubai Expo 2020, and Board Representative of the Dubai Expo 2020 Higher Committee, deliver the fair’s opening keynote address on Tuesday.

Bayt.com also conducted an interactive workshop titled ‘How to Use Personal Branding to Boost Your Career’ and LinkedIn, the world’s largest online network for professionals, chaired a session titled ‘The Student Recruiting Journey Unveiled’ on Wednesday.
