Dubai: Career opportunities in the public and private sector await 18,000 Emirati graduates and job seekers at the 15th edition of Careers UAE 2015 — one of the UAE’s leading recruitment, training and education exhibition for UAE nationals — which opens its doors on Tuesday.

The three-day event, which is taking place at the at Dubai World Trade Centre, is held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

This year, Careers UAE will include a diverse range of career and internship opportunities in industries such as aviation, education, energy, engineering, financial services, hospitality, retail and technology.

“Countrywide, the UAE is striving to forge an economy built on competitiveness, innovation and creativity in the domestic workforce. Hiring Emirati talent is not about numbers, quotas or entitlement, it is about building a sustainable future where empowered Emiratis can constructively contribute to the country’s long-term vision and success,” said Asma Mohammad Al Sharif, Director for Exhibitions, DWTC.

Reem Al Hashemi, UAE Minister of State, Director-General, Bureau Dubai Expo 2020, and Board Representative of the Dubai Expo 2020 Higher Committee, will deliver the fair’s opening keynote address on Tuesday.

Sharing the inspirational story of her career, Reem will focus on the unique employment and learning opportunities that underpin the framework of the country’s long-term development and strategic plan, Expo 2020 Dubai and the embodiment of the UAE Vision 2021.

The opening day of the show will see Bayt.com conduct an interactive workshop titled ‘How to Use Personal Branding to Boost Your Career’. The session aims to raise awareness among Emirati professionals about the importance of managing one’s online presence to create a powerful personal brand.

LinkedIn, the world’s largest online network for professionals, will chair a session titled ‘The Student Recruiting Journey Unveiled’ on Wednesday. The session will focus on talent acquisition, the revolution in student recruiting and successful online recruiting strategies.

The Mohammad Bin Rashid School of Government announced that it has 18 job openings in academic, research and administrative positions as part of its participation at Careers UAE.

Organised by DWTC in conjunction with Tanmia, Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University and UAE University, Careers UAE 2015 is open exclusively for UAE nationals and HR practitioners.

Enoc also announced that it will participate in Careers UAE with 200 job opportunities during the exhibition, Enoc is recruiting young Emiratis in core oil and gas specialisations to support the company’s growth strategy. These specialisations include chemical, mechanical and structural engineering, sales, marketing and business development and the legal field.
