Abu Dhabi: A total of 876 new public school teachers have been recruited in the emirate of Abu Dhabi for the 2016-2017 academic year.

The Abu Dhabi Education Council, the emirate’s education sector regulator, said in a statement sent today (July 25) that the new teachers will take up positions in public schools in the capital, Al Ain and the Western Region. They will teach kindergarten, Islamic, Arabic, Science, Maths, English, Social Studies, Physiology, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, and assist special needs pupils.

The teachers are all qualified with a bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject, and are proficient in English.
