Dubai: The Ministry of Education and Emirates Transport launched the first phase of special school buses for transporting students with special needs on Tuesday morning, which is part of the special needs children integration project the Ministry is working on.

The first phase consisted of 50 buses, fitted with the latest equipment and inline with international standards for the safety and comfort of special needs students during their trip between home and school.

Marwan Al Sawaleh, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, expressed the Ministry’s eagerness to provide high-level educational services, consistent with international quality standards, adding that the ministry is putting a lot of focus on the special needs students’ integration project.

He added that the Ministry is not sparing any efforts in providing anything that will help integrate special needs students and help them overcome any obstacles that they might encounter in the educational process.

Mohammad Al Jarman, General Manager of Emirates Transport, said that out of the 50 buses in the first batch of buses, nine buses will serve students in Dubai, and are equipped with a advanced boarding mechanism for the students.
