Dubai: Emirates Aviation University celebrated its 24th annual graduation ceremony yesterday, honouring more than 400 students.

The graduating class consisted of 131 students from the undergraduate programmes, 186 from vocational programmes, 85 from postgraduate programmes, and 31 UAE national higher diploma graduates.

Including this year’s students, the university has graduated more than 13,000 students since its inception in 1991.

“The growing aviation industry in the UAE and the wider region has created a whole spectrum of jobs that demand continuing education and professional qualifications. The success of our programmes reflects this demand and also the calibre of our education,” said Dr Ahmad Al Ali, Chancellor of Emirates Aviation University.

The university said it remains committed to offering new and industry-relevant programmes. In 2015, the university introduced four new programmes — higher national diploma in mechanical engineering, applied masters in aerospace engineering, applied masters in mechanical engineering, and applied masters in HR management and development.
