Dubai: The Minister of State for Higher Education, Dr Ahmad Abdullah Humaid Bel Houl Al Falasi, has approved the names of 14,746 students who were accepted in government universities and for scholarships abroad for the first semester of the 2017-2018 academic year.

An SMS notification was sent to the students, informing them that their applications have been approved.

The ministry said that students who applied for scholarships abroad should contact the ministry on the following email address: sch.students@moe.gov.ae.

Dr Al Falasi congratulated the students who completed their high school education, and wished them more success and progress in their future endeavours. He emphasised the importance of choosing academic specialisations that would help achieve the UAE’s aspirations in the coming years, which will meet the country’s needs for capable national cadres that can continue the march of development witnessed by the UAE.

A total of 5,109 student were accepted in UAE University, 6,059 in Higher Colleges of Technology, 2,042 in Zayed University, 295 in Khalifa University, 37 in Mohammad V University in Abu Dhabi, 184 students for the scholarships abroad programme, and 1,020 in institutes and colleges affiliated to Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute.

The ministry pointed out that the number of students who are granted scholarships abroad will increase in the coming days once the admission procedures are completed by the higher education institutions they applied to.
