Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi police have arrested seven Asians, including a woman, who strangled a woman to death, the police said on Monday.
The group killed the Asian woman, aged 38, in her apartment in Abu Dhabi.
Major General Omeir Mohammad Al Muhairi, director of criminal security department of Abu Dhabi Police, said the killer was a friend of the victim and lived with her in the same apartment.
Following a dispute, he called upon other perpetrators from other Emirates to come to the apartment, steal her belongings and kill her.
The crime was uncovered after police received information about a dead body in an apartment in Abu Dhabi.
A police team that went to the apartment found the woman's corpse. Primary investigation revealed marks indicating that the woman was strangled to death.
Police also recovered cash, a computer, a mobile phone and gold jewellery from the accused.
Police also found evidence proving the group's involvement in the woman's killing.
The accused have confessed to the crime and their case was referred to the court.
