Dubai: An Iranian and a Tajik suspects refuted the charge of collaborating in the premeditated murder of Chechen leader Sulim Yamadayev, who was shot dead in Dubai in March.

The Iranian clerk, M.T., and Tajik businessman, M.K., also rejected the charge of aiding and abetting in Yamadayev's killing, when they appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Monday.

"Not guilty," argued M.T., in Persian language, and M.K., in Russian language, when they denied their charges before Presiding Judge Hamad Abdul Latif Abdul Jawad at courtroom 4.

According to the arraignment sheet, the Public Prosecution charged M.T. with collaborating with an absconder identified as Adam to monitor the movement of the victim from Dubai International Airport to his residence in Jumeirah Beach Residence.

He was also charged with identifying the victim's address to an unidentified number of suspects (who are still at large) and who gunned down the victim.

He was charged with taking murder weapon from Adam and handing it over to the escapees who carried out the killing. He was also charged with carrying an unlicensed gun and bullets.

The Tajik was charged with conspiring with the escapees in plotting the murder and dropping the shooters to the airport to leave the country.
The court reconvenes on October 5.
