Sharjah: Two suspected drug dealers have been arrested after officers found a 3.5kg of marijuana in their possession, said Lieutenant-Colonel Majid Al Azam, acting director of the anti-narcotic department.

The suspects, both Asians identified as Sh. Sh. and A.M., allegedly promoted narcotic substances among residents.

The police said 3.5kg of marijuana was seized during a raid on the suspects’ house.

They were arrested in a sting operation by Sharjah Police’s anti-narcotics department. In fact, the authorities started an investigation after receiving a tipoff about their illegal activity.

The suspects have confessed to the crime and were referred to the public prosecution.
