Abu Dhabi: The hearing in the case of three men involved in a suspected murder over right of way started in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. The two accused siblings who were arrested for killing the third appeared in court.

One of the two men, who have both been charged with attempted murder, is suffering from hemiplegia (half-body paralysis) as a result of the brawl while a third man died from brain injuries.

A police officer who was presented as a witness, testified that he received information about a fight involving three people and a two-car accident. Upon arriving at the scene, the officer told the court that he called an ambulance after finding one of the men in pain.

While waiting for the medical team, the victim who died was found walking from a distance, with blood on his face, saying that “they” had hit him with metal bars but he was not pointing towards the accused as the aggressors.

The doctor who performed the check-up on the victim told the court: “He was not breathing when I saw him. He did not have a pulse, or blood pressure and his nose was swollen and bleeding as well as his eye which was very blackened and swollen. He showed signs of injuries on his back, chest, face and legs as a result of blunt force including several broken ribs, and bruises in the liver area.”

The doctor clarified that the victim was conscious when he arrived at the hospital but may have suffered from a sudden deterioration as a result of a stroke, severe head injuries or the presence of blood in his lungs.

The medical report stated that these kinds of injuries may be caused by one person but could have also been caused by two considering their variety and number.

The court has decided to postpone the court hearing until the issue of the victim’s inheritance is clarified and security tapes of the crime scene are examined.
