Ajman: Two men have been arrested in Ajman on charges of possessing of 13kg of heroin, Ajman Police said on Monday.

Colonel Saeed Humaid Nasser Al Hosani, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department at Ajman Police, said that Al Nuaimiyah police station received a call reporting a brawl in a first floor apartment where someone was trying to climb down from a window.

Upon receiving the information, a police team moved to the scene of the incident and arrested the African suspects identified as T. A. A. and M. M. T.

Col Al Hosani said police noticed bags that smelt bad, rousing suspicion that they contained drugs. Police seized the bags and sent a sample to a forensic lab, which revealed the material was heroin and weighed 13kg.

The African suspects also tested positive for heroin consumption and were referred to the public prosecution for further action.

Colonel Abdullah Ahmad Al Hamrani, Deputy Chief of Ajman Police, said police are working round the clock to maintain security and help arrest suspects who pose a danger to the safety and security of society.

He thanked all the officers in the police station of Al Nuaimiyah and commended their outstanding performance that led to the arrest of the accused.

Ajman Police urged people to cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious activity.
