Dubai: Two Asian men were arrested and four kilograms of heroin seized by Dubai Police.

The first suspect, N.A.M., 30, was arrested when he was trying to sell the drugs to an undercover police officer in Bur Dubai near a bus station. Colonel Eid Mohammad Thani Hareb, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, said the officer posed as a drug dealer who wanted to buy all the drugs.

Col Hareb said N.A.M. was in the UAE on a tourist visa as per instructions from A.G., a drug dealer who lives abroad, who sent him to sell the drugs and come back with the money.

N.A.M. was working with A.A.S., 35, from the same Asian nationality who lived in Sharjah and was hiding the drugs.

Sharjah Police arrested A.A.S. in the Sharjah industrial area near a mall in the area.

Col Hareb said the police found four kg of heroin in an electronic shop owned by A.A.S., hidden in a cardboard box that contained a number of laptops.

Both the suspects were transferred to the public prosecution on charges of drug possession with the intent to sell.
