Shopkeeper attacked with knives in Sharjah robbery

Sharjah: Police have launched an investigation after four men attacked a shop attendant with knives in the industrial area of Sharjah.

The victim was identified by police as G.M., 45, of Asian nationality, who worked at an auto parts shop in Industrial Area No. 6.   

The area is located behind Sharjah Cricket Stadium, between Abu Shagara and Mohammad Bin Zayed Road.

According to Sharjah Police, four African men stormed into the shop and attempted to rob the victim.

When the victim refused to hand over the valuable contents from the store, a struggle ensued, and the suspects then attacked him with knives and stole laptops, mobile phones and cash.

After the suspects fled the scene, the victim sought treatment for his wounds at Al Qasimi Hospital.

Officials at the hospital referred him to the nearest police station to report the crime.

The investigation into the suspects’ identities and whereabouts continue.
