Dubai: Social media users have been circulating CCTV footage of the suspect moments before he killed 11-year old Azan Majid Janjua.

Abu Dhabi Police released the video footage on June 10, 2017, almost two weeks after the incident happened.

In the 20-second video clip, which was revealed exclusively by Abu Dhabi’s television programme Oloum Al Dar, viewers can watch the suspect disguised as a woman as he makes his way from the street into the building.

The short video then shows the suspect carrying a bag, and walking behind the victim, as they both enter the elevator and made their way to the roof.

The boy went missing on May 30, and his body was found the next morning by AC technicians, who went to the building’s rooftop to check a malfunctioning chiller.

According to family members, the boy was raped and murdered by the brother of the victim’s stepmother.

Abu Dhabi Police had previously said that the suspect was someone close to the family, and that he cross-dressed as a woman to allegedly mislead the boy to the rooftop of the building to commit the crime.

The video also shows the rope that was used by the Pakistani suspect, in his late 20s, who strangled the child to death.
