Sharjah: Two men are dead after separate apparent suicides in Sharjah, police say.

Police have not completely ruled out foul play pending further investigation of the unrelated deaths on Sunday and Tuesday.

But police said all evidence so far points to suicide given that in both instances the bodies of the men were found hanging.

On Tuesday, Sharjah Police found a 34-year-old Indian man, later identified as D.S., who reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope in his apartment in the Moileh area of Sharjah.

The police operations room received a call at around 2.30pm reporting the incident.

Officials from the Criminal Investigation Department and forensic experts inspected the scene of the incident after Al Gharb police reported the incident on Tuesday, an official said.

The body was moved to a hospital in Sharjah and then transferred to the forensic laboratory for an autopsy.

In the incident reported on Sunday, a 38-year-old Indian worker was found hanging in the cement factory in the Al Saja’a area of Sharjah.

The police said the man, identified as P.K., apparently committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope from the ceiling of his workplace.

Workers found the body and reported the incident to the police operation room at around 10.35am.

The body was moved to Al Kuwaiti hospital, then to forensic laboratory for autopsy.

Al Saja’a police station is investigating the incident.
