Abu Dhabi: An Arab man will serve a four-month jail term and be deported after he tried to con an undercover policewoman by claiming he had the ability to solve her marital problems for Dh75,000, the Abu Dhabi Misdemeanour Court ruled.

The man was caught after he received the payment and handed the police officer so-called amulets and scripts to place her husband under her submission.

The policewoman had heard of a man who had been charging people for his black magic spells.

A trap was set to capture him after the police official called him and pretended to have marital problems.

The accused then alleged that he was capable of using magic to rid her of her worries, adding he would need to purchase items from nearby countries which would cost the woman Dh75,000.

Eventually, the two agreed to meet and the arrest was made.
