Ras Al Khaimah: A 22-year-old Indonesian maid has been arrested after she threatened to commit suicide, an official told Gulf News on Tuesday.
The maid, identified as J.S., took a knife and ran to the rooftop of her Emirati sponsor’s villa in Al Dhait area and threatened to commit suicide.
The Ras Al Khaimah Police operations room received a call on Friday around 10.30pm reporting the incident.
The police, Civil Defence and an ambulance moved to the scene of the incident and negotiated with the maid.
THE CID officers managed to detain her and took her into police custody for interrogation.
The maid’s sponsor told the police that the maid was beating his child and when family members discussed the issue with her, she threatened to commit suicide.
