Abu Dhabi: A visiting delegation from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) commended Abu Dhabi Police’s level of police work and its use of modern technology to ensure the safety of residents.

The commendation was made by Maj Gen Horace Frank, deputy supreme commander of the Special Operations and Anti-Terrorism Bureau of the LAPD, during a recent visit to the capital. The American official also expressed admiration for the attention paid to training police officials.

The LAPD visit is part of an international programme to exchange best practices and expertise in the field of policing. Officials toured a number of key Abu Dhabi Police departments, including the Criminal Investigations Department and the Security Support Division, as well as the Musaffah police station. They were also briefed about methodologies used by Abu Dhabi Police to handle hazardous materials, disarm explosives and train dogs to support police officials in combating crime.
