Ras Al Khaimah: Four juveniles have been arrested by the Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Investigation Department for selling sharp weapons using social media channels.

Brigadier Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi, Director-General of police operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the police formed a team to arrest the suspects after they got a tip off that four young people were trying to sell dangerous sharp tools online.

Police set a trap for the suspects and caught them red-handed. The police team raided their location and recovered a large number of sharp weapons.

The case has been referred to the public prosecution for further action.

Brigadier Al Hadidi said that the Ras Al Khaimah Police show zero tolerance towards anyone involved in misusing, selling or fighting with sharp tools.

He urged youths to be more tolerant and patient in settling their disputes with others. He advised them to seek help from the authorities concerned in resolving their issues instead of taking extreme steps.

Brig Al Hadidi said that precautionary measures have been taken to curb such phenomena. “Security patrols, CID, and undercover agents have been deployed at youth gatherings, sports halls and entertainment venues to enhance security in the emirate,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ras Al Khaimah Police have arrested all the suspects who were accused of attacking two Emirati youths in a game hall in Ras Al Khaimah on June 7. The four suspects are three Emiratis and one with GCC nationality. Police investigations revealed that the suspects are drug addicts.

The case has been referred to the public prosecution for further action.
