ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi Police have arrested a gang of three Asians who used to steal purses of female bank customers under pretext of faulty tyres.

Police received two complaints from two Arab women that they were robbed of their bags after they came out of banks to get in their cars.

They were tricked by the suspect, who told them that there had been some problen in their cars’ tyres, and when they stepped out to check if the suspects stole their bags.

All the suspects are aged between 23 and 38.

Brigadier Ahmad Saif Bin Zaytoun Al Muhairi, Director of the Capital Police Directorate, said that further investigations were continuing regarding the case.

The police have urged resident to take precautions while visiting banks. Police said in some cases supects broke window glass to steal from cars.

Earlier this month, Abu Dhabi Police arrested four Asians for robbing bank customers in broad daylight.
