Ajman: Police have arrested two gangs for committing a series of car break-in cases overnight on March 25 in different residential areas of the emirate, Brigadier General Ali Alwan, commander in chief of Ajman Police, told Gulf News on Wednesday.

Owners of up to 70 vehicles reported damage to the quarter windows of their cars, but only 27 cars were burgled.

Two Syrians formed the first gang while the second gang consisted of three men, two Pakistanis and a Bangladeshi.

Victims said they lost valuables and documents kept in their vehicles. Most of the victims were living in the Al Nuaimiyah and Al Hamdiyah areas.

Ajman police arrested the culprits and referred them to public prosecution.

One of the victims, Saeed Mohammad, told Gulf News that he was shocked to see his car damaged and looted. He discovered the theft in morning while he was about to leave for work in Dubai.

Brig Gen Alwan advised people to “not leave any valuables in their cars, even small coins because it could tempt those who have a weak soul.”
