Ras Al Khaimah: An Emirati man, whose photo was circulated in the media after he had gone missing for more than 10 days, was found on Wednesday with the help of Dubai Police.

According to police, the man was last seen in public while walking along Oman Road in Ras Al Khaimah city, two days before Eid Al Fitr. The missing person, identified as Salah, was wearing a white kandoura and traditional ghutra.

The 44-year-old man with a mental illness was missing from his home since July 9, but was found by Dubai Police in good health, before being handed over to his family, Ras Al Khaimah police said.

Colonel Abdullah Al Munkis, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Ras Al Khaimah, said that Dubai Police was able to locate the missing man after posting his pictures in various newspapers and social networking sites.

“The man is in good health and his family was immediately informed about it. Dubai Police handed him to us and we then handed him over to his family,” Al Munkis said.

Al Munkis thanked Dubai police for their constant cooperation with Ras Al Khaimah police on various issues and humanitarian situations, which may require support and assistance.

He also praised various members of the community for their interaction on the issue, since the first moment it appeared on the media, especially social networking channels.

He appealed to all parents to intensively monitor their children, particularly those with mental disorder or certain conditions that affect their behaviour.
