Dubai: A Chinese gang of four were arrested in their apartment in international city, behind Dragon Mart, mid-April for suspicious activities, linked to drug possession, use and smuggling as well as possessing an unregistered fire arm and sharp edged weapons.

Maj Gen Abdul Jaleel Mahdi Al Asmawi, Director of the Combating Narcotics Department at Dubai Police, said that the gang comprised of three men D.S, 41, D.L. 24, H.L., 41 and a woman Z.H, 19.

He said that the arrest was made following detailed information received by the department indicating that the four used drugs on almost a daily bases in their apartment.

Al Asmawi said that the four defendants were referred to the legal authorities on charges of possession of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as the possession of an unlicensed firearm and sharp edged weapons.

After inspection, the police team found different amounts of crystal meth, illegal poppy seeds, a firearm and 10 plastic-tipped bullets, a cleaver and knives with burn marks — which they used in drug preparations, Al Asmawi said.

He added that the team also found a balance used for determining the amounts of drugs as well as tools, such as glass and tin pipes, special water used for drugs, in addition to the 24 mobile phones and large sums of money in different currencies.
