Dubai: The Dubai Public Prosecution appears to be treading carefully on the case even as the outcry mounts against the accused. So far no charges have been brought against any of the three Indian men - bus driver M.B, attendant J, and cleaner V.S.T.

Criminal lawyer Haroon Tahlak said besides the testimony of the girl, the prosecutors will have to also heavily bank on forensic and investigative evidence. "The fact that the incident was reported after several months will, however, have no bearing on the case.

The child could've been too scared to talk about it.. that does not mean that she or her parents are lying [about the sexual assault] The child can testify in court, or in front of public prosecutors. As long as she can talk, she'll be able to testify, and her testimony will be credible," he said. If found guilty, the suspects could be sentenced to death.
