Dubai: An employee has been accused of locking a naked woman outside his flat shortly after he turned physically violent with her and raped her in the bedroom.

The jobless Uzbek woman was said to have visited the 39-year-old Emirati employee at his flat to discuss the details of her criminal case since he was her guarantor in January.

Shortly after she saluted his children, the man sent his kids to bed, according to records, before he jumped on the woman, undressed and raped her. It is alleged that every time she tried to fend the man off her, he would pin her down and continue having sex with her against her will, said records.

Soon after the act, the man kicked her out of his flat and locked out though she was naked.

The woman then took refuge at a neighbouring flat occupied by a number of Russian women, who gave her clothes to cover up before she went and reported the matter to the police around 7pm.

Dubai Police apprehended the 39-year-old man four days later from the rooftop room where he had been hiding.

Prosecutors accused the suspect of abusing the women physically while having sex with her against her will and molesting her by locking her naked outside his flat in Al Nahda.

When the suspect showed up before the Dubai Court of First Instance, he refuted the allegations of raping the woman and molesting her.

“Didn’t you throw her out of your place and kept her there naked?” the presiding judge Urfan Omar asked the suspect.

“No I did not … the door was open and she went out on her own. I did not touch her. Nothing happened,” the suspect replied.

“How come? It was all shown on CCTV cameras. She was pushed out and left without clothes outside your place. Did you abuse her sexually after you had sent your children to bed?” the presiding judge asked the suspect.

“No I did not. She is a friend of the family and she knows all of us. The kids were already asleep,” the 39-year-old told the court on Thursday.

The Uzbek testified to prosecutors that she knew the suspect since he had bailed her out in a criminal case that she was facing at the Naturalisation and Residency Prosecution.

“I visited him at his residence several times to discuss my criminal case … I never slept over at his flat and we never kissed or had sex before. I live with my sister in Sharjah. That day, I went to his residence as usual to discuss my case … we sat at the balcony where he had been drinking liquor. He had a heated argument with his children and sent them away, and then he yelled at me, grabbed my phone and tossed it from the window. When I tried to leave the flat, he pulled me from my hair and dragged me into the bedroom. He turned physically violent and raped me. He abused me for nearly two hours … I injured myself when I fell to the ground while trying to protect myself. When he finished, he dragged me again from my hair and pushed me out of the flat where I was left naked,” she claimed to prosecutors.

A police lieutenant testified to prosecutors that the CCTV footage showed the woman arriving at the suspect’s flat and chatting with his children at the door around 4.30pm.

“The woman was also seen undressed when she was left outside. During questioning, the suspect alleged that he had been having consensual sex with the Uzbek for a year … he claimed that he locked her outside naked because he had a heated argument with her that day,” the lieutenant claimed.

The court reconvenes on June 29.
