Dubai: A watchman has been accused of luring an 8-year-old girl to his room and molesting her after he showed her an indecent video on his mobile phone.
The 37-year-old Indian watchman, C.A., was said to have asked the Syrian girl, who was playing on her bicycle near the building’s entrance, to come to his room where he molested her in July.
The girl’s father coincidentally discovered what had happened, according to records, to his daughter when he found Dh2.25 in her hand that she had taken from the suspect after the alleged sexual abuse.
Prosecutors accused C.A. of molesting a minor.
The suspect pleaded not guilty when he showed up before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Tuesday.

According to the charge sheet, prosecutors said the watchman kissed the girl and groped her after he made her see a porn movie on his phone.
The father testified to prosecutors that the incident happened shortly after his daughter asked him for permission to ride her bicycle under the building.
“She insisted on going down to play. When I returned home around 4.30pm, I found her standing at the entrance and seemed disturbed. I took her to the flat where I discovered that she had coins in her hand. She told me that the watchman gave the money to her. When I asked her why, she told me that he kissed her on the mouth and took her to his bedroom. I called the police immediately,” the father claimed.
The girl was cited telling prosecutors that she refused to remove her clothes when the watchman asked her to do so. “He showed me a film on his mobile phone … then he undressed me and touched me indecently on the bed. Then he gave me the coins and I left. When my dad saw me downstairs, I told him what happened,” she was quoted as telling prosecutors.
The suspect was cited admitting to prosecutors that he molested the girl.
Meanwhile he pleaded innocent in court, which will hand out a ruling on October 20.
