Sharjah: The Sharjah Public Prosecution trapped an employee assigned by the Sharjah Court for taking a bribe from a consumer to change a report.

Rashid Al Omrani, Attorney-General of Sharjah Prosecution, said that the Sharjah Public Prosecutor was tipped off that an employee was accepting bribes from customers in order to change their reports. They decided to trap the employee and caught him red-handed. Al Omrani said that the person has been identified as R.Y. and is assigned by the Sharjah court to handle some financial work. He is an Arab accountant.

He had to change the report of a customer inside his office in the court. However, he demanded Dh50,000 as a bribe to change the report.

When the suspect was accepting the money from the customer public prosecution officials caught him red-handed inside his office with the notes. The suspect has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

The first court hearing in the case will be on August 12.
