Dubai: A driver has been accused of indecent behaviour and walking behind a woman shopper at a supermarket where he molested her.

The 31-year-old Bangladeshi driver, M.J., was said to have come from behind the Filipina when she was between two shelves and molested her in September at Al Satwa.

Prosecutors accused M.J. of molestation.

The suspect pleaded guilty when he entered his plea before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Sunday.

According to the charge sheet, prosecutors said the suspect behaved lewdly.

The Filipina claimed to prosecutors that she was shopping at the supermarket when she felt someone touching her from behind.

“I felt like someone was touching me from the back. I turned around and saw that the suspect had exposed himself and he molested me. When I asked him what he was doing he only said sorry. I reported what had happened to the supermarket’s security guard and he called the police. Police apprehended the suspect once they arrived on the scene,” she testified to prosecutors.

The suspect was quoted as admitting to prosecutors that he walked behind the woman, exposed himself and molested the woman.

Presiding judge Fahd Al Shamsi said a judgement will he heard on November 16.
