Dubai: A cleaner has been jailed for three months for molesting the daughter of his boss by kissing her unwillingly inside the kitchen of the flat where she lives.
The 24-year-old Indian cleaner accompanied the wife of his manager to clean the family’s house in Al Rifaa in February.
When he finished the house chores and left the flat with the wife, he returned few minutes later to take the woman’s chair.
As he walked in to the flat, he headed to the kitchen to drink water and that was when he spotted the 22-year-old Indian daughter and forced her to kiss him.
The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the defendant of kissing the woman against her will.
According to the primary ruling, the defendant will be deported following the completion of his punishment.
The daughter told her father what happened and the latter reported the matter to the police.When the accused showed up in court, he pleaded not guilty plea and dismissed the daughter’s claims that he had kissed her.
The 22-year-old college girl said the incident happened when her mother accompanied the defendant from her father’s company to the flat.
“The cleaner works for my father’s company in Ras Al Khaimah. That day he came with my mom to clean the house and the furniture. He finished and left the flat but he returned after few minutes to carry my mother’s chair. I was in the kitchen when he entered and said he wanted to drink water. He finished drinking and came close to me. Then he pulled me from my hair and forced me to kiss him. I pushed him and moved back few steps. Then he left. Shocked by his attitude, I told my father what he had done … then my dad called the police,” the daughter testified.
The ruling remains subject to appeal.
