Dubai: An administrator has been accused of groping a paramedic twice while she was alone at her flat, heard a court on Monday.

The 31-year-old Filipina paramedic was said to be present at her flat when the 30-year-old Pakistani administrator came there in December.

Being in charge of renting out flats at the building, the suspect wanted to show the apartment to three potential tenants in Tecom area.

When the three potential tenants had left after viewing the flat, the suspect believed to have used his own key to enter the flat and told the paramedic that he liked her and wanted to touch her.

As soon as the suspect groped the paramedic, she scolded him for his behaviour and pushed him away but he groped her again until she kicked him out of her room.

The Filipina sent a Facebook message to her co-worker to inform him about the incident and he reported the matter to police. The suspect was apprehended by police shortly after the incident.

Prosecutors accused the suspect of groping the Filipina twice.

According to the charges sheet, prosecutors said the suspect took advantage of the fact that the paramedic was alone at the flat.

The suspect entered a not guilty plea before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Monday.

“I did not touch her,” he told presiding judge Urfan Omar.

The paramedic told prosecutors that the incident happened after she allowed the suspect into the flat to show it to three potential tenants.

“He showed them around and then they all left. Few minutes later, I suddenly found him in my bedroom … I didn’t realise or hear him coming. I think he used his key to open the door since he was in charge of the building. He told me that he liked me and wanted to touch me … and he groped my top. I yelled at him and pushed him away. He groped me again and left. I locked the door and sent a Facebook message to my co-worker telling him about the incident. He reported the matter to the police and the suspect apprehended,” she told prosecutors.

The trial continues.
