Woman killed in south Yemen clashes
The woman was eight months pregnant
“A woman eight months pregnant died of her wounds after she was shot by live rounds,” a medic told AFP.
A local government official told AFP that clashes erupted between police forces and protesters who tried to block a road in Aden’s Khor Maksar neighbourhood.
The police opened fire, killing the woman, he said. “The protesters had taken to the street to demand the release of two residents of their neighbourhood who were arrested nine days ago without an arrest warrant.”
Aden is a stronghold of several armed groups including militias linked to southern separatists.
