Abu Dhabi: In implementation of the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has dispatched a humanitarian relief plane carrying 50 tonnes of medical assistance to Yemen.
An official source at the Khalifa Foundation said that another plane would leave for Yemen on Monday carrying a further 50 tonnes of medicines and medical supplies.
The source explained that the aid delivery comes in line with the directives of the UAE’s leadership to provide all help and assistance to the people of Yemen, especially in light of the current circumstances there. He added that the foundation will expand its relief operations to provide food, medicines and medical supplies to Yemen in the near future.
