Sana'a: Yemen's ministry of interior has said that the number of Somali refugees in the country has reached two million despite mounting instability and political turbulence.
According to the ministry's website, the mass exodus of Africans has soared since the beginning of this year and Yemen received last month an unprecedented number of the African refugees.
In April, police detained 1,147 Ethiopians who left their refugee camps in the south and infiltrated into many provinces in the country. Most of the illegal immigrants were captured in the southern province of Sa'ada, bordering Saudi Arabia.
The ministry called upon the international community to help to Yemen to cope with the flow of African migrants.
