Sana'a: A group of three men accused of supporting Al Houthi armed rebellion have been captured in Sana'a, security sources said on Thursday.

"The three-member group were running a media centre for distributing CDs containing information about Al Houthi rebels and the war to journalists, websites and newspapers that promote the terrorist and sabotage acts of the rebels," the website 26 September quoted an unnamed security source as saying.

The source did not give the names of the captives, saying only the chairman of the group was an Islamic studies teacher while the other two were working in a GSM communication companies.

"The group received training on media promotion and propaganda in an Arab country and they received assistance from an expert in an Asian country," the source said.

"The group was also running websites promoting Al Houthi and providing journalists with news about the armed confrontations in Sa'ada by SMS or e-mail," the source added.

"They exaggerated the news in a way that raises the morale of Al Houthi rebels."

The source said the group members were sending information on public opinion about the rebels to its leader, Abdul Malek Al Houthi.

In investigations, the group confessed that they had received support from inside and outside Yemen, particularly from the families of Al Hamed Al Deen, the royal family that ruled Yemen before 1962, the source added.
