Sana'a: The international forces in the territorial waters of Somalia and Yemen are a potential threat and are not present just to take on piracy, said a senior Muslim scholar at a recent lecture.
"The presence of international forces in the territorial waters of Somalia and Yemen are not to combat piracy, but they are forming a potential aggression against Arab and Muslims," said scholar Mohammad Salim Al Awa, the Secretary General of the World Muslim Scholars Union.
In his current visit to Yemen where he delivered a lecture on "Concepts of extremism and reality of terrorism", in a symposium organised by the Ministry Religious Affairs, Al Awa accused the current international forces of easing the access of smuggled weapons to south of Sudan and Darfur, with the aim of nullifying the expected elections in the region.
