Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) foreign ministers will hold their regular meeting in Sana'a in a clear show of support to the conflict-plagued country at the southern part of their six-member alliance.

The ministers from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE will hold their one-day meeting sometime between January 20 and January 23, Kuwaiti daily Al Seyassah reported on Wednesday.

"The Yemen foreign ministry is engaged in consultations with its counterparts in the six GCC countries to reach a final agreement on the date," the paper said.

Political decisions to be taken at the meeting will fully support Yemen in its confrontation of the challenges posed by the Houthis and Al Qaida.

The ministers will also agree on economic measures within the partnership between the GCC and Yemen, the paper said.

The GCC summit in Kuwait City last month said in its communiqué that it supported Yemen and Saudi Arabia in seeking to secure stability and defending their territories against aggression.
