Dubai: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has embarked on the rebuilding of Autistic Children Society in Khormaksar in Aden Governorate as part of 15 development projects undertaken to improve motherhood and childhood services in Aden and nearby provinces.

The move comes as per the directives of Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation, and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and Honorary President of ERC.

The ERC will expand the facility and set up new classrooms and add other facilities, such as play areas and gardens to meet the needs of autistic children. The building will be fully furnished and equipped with all equipment and latest learning materials for autistic children.

In addition to the autistic society, other projects will be carried out in health care, educational and social sectors, and will be implemented in centres that serve women and children, such as the Tawahi Children Centre, Kreter Birth Centre among others.

Abeer Al Yousifi, head of Autistic Children Society, expressed her profound gratitude and appreciation for Shaikha Fatima’s generous initiative that reflects her keen interest in supporting vulnerable community categories, especially children who are in need of support and help.
