London: A Yemeni woman, in her twenties, paid a heavy price for eloping from her family’s house and marrying her beloved. Police in the southern port city of Aden said on Tuesday that four men shot dead their sister and her husband, 30, to erase shame brought to their family when she ran away from home with the man. Police said that the woman and her husband escaped her family’s house in the province of Hadramout, got married and settled in Aden city. Angered by their sister’s sudden disappearance, the brothers chased the couple to Aden and killed them in their house. The police did not say whether the perpetrators were arrested or still at large.
