Sana’a: Al Houthi rebels are on track with the implementation of the six conditions for ending the war in Sa’ada, aside from isolated breaches, sources close to the mediation committee revealed Thursday.
In a sign of great progress, roads have reopened in the three main areas of fighting around Sa’ada City, Harf Sufyan, and Al Malahaid. Efforts continue to remove mines, barricades and checkpoints. Rebels have been cooperating but have showed some resistance to issues relating to spreading the influence of the government in their areas, sources who did not wish to be named told Gulf News. Government forces have yet to deploy in the Al Houthi-controlled areas.
“The task is very difficult, we ask for patience, but the level of implementation is good as people are able to move normally and farmers have returned back to their lands after mines were removed,” Abdul Malik Al Makhlafi, a member of the national committee which supervises the implementation of the six conditions to the end war said.
