Sana’a: The third aid plane from the UAE carrying 44 tonnes of food supplies landed at Sana’a International Airport as part of the UAE Red Crescent Authority’s air bridge under the umbrella of the “Sanadhum” (Help them) relief campaign launched by the UAE two weeks ago to help Yemenis face the food shortage.

The humanitarian air bridge, which has reached 183,000 tonnes of food items, dates and clothing, is in line with directives from President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and orders from General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and is being followed up by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of RCA.

Head of RCA’s office in Sana’a Khalfan Saif Al Kindi, who received the aid plane, said more than 5,000 families and 25 beneficiaries were covered by the RCA relief campaign.

“Today, the RCA aid workers distributed food assistance to the poor at Kharaba, western district of Sana’a,” he added.
