Dubai: Bring your umbrellas and your jackets on Sunday and Monday morning as the UAE will experience moderate to heavy rainfall and a further drop in temperature over the next two days.

Unsettled weather will prevail in the country the whole day on Sunday and Monday morning with increased chances of moderate rainfall in general and heavy rainfall over the sea and close to the coast.

Light scattered rainfall was recorded in parts of Dubai and Sharjah on Saturday afternoon.

“The unstable weather condition is due to low pressure in the south-western part of the country, which is accompanied by a cold upper air mass,” a forecaster at the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology told Gulf News.

Temperatures will drop by another two degrees Celsius, with the maximum being between 18C and 21C and the minimum 13C to 15C.

Moderate to fresh north-westerly winds will blow in general, becoming strong at times, which may blow dust or sand.

Motorists are advised to be extra cautious while driving as visibility may become poor over internal areas. The public must avoid areas where rainwater tends to collect.

The weather bureau has warned the public against sea trips as the Arabian Gulf waters will be rough, with waves reaching eight feet offshore.
