Al Ain: Morning fog has yet again triggered traffic snarls on key roads and caused major flight disruptions at Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah airports on Monday.

At least eight flights from Abu Dhabi airport were diverted to Al Ain.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) and police have advised motorists to be extra cautious on roads that pass through fog patches. Forecasters said thick fog had covered all the major cities on the western coastal belt from Ras Al Khaimah up to Ruwais in the western region of Abu Dhabi Emirate. Fog also blanketed some inland areas.

Meanwhile, daytime temperature is expected to climb a couple of point up on Monday, touching the 32 degree Celsius mark in most parts of the country.

Night time conditions have also moved out from the cold 2.2C temperature to the expected 12C to 17c on Monday night.

Later on Monday, the weather is expected to be fair to partly cloudy in general, said NCMS. Conditions are likely to become hazy at times in some areas.

Winds would be light to moderately rough with a likelihood of blowing up sand and dust in some inland areas.

Relative humidity is also likely to increase at night and early in the morning with a chance of mist patches. Sea will be slight to moderately rough, according to the NCMS.
