Dubai: Pockets of thick fog kept UAE motorists on the edge early on Monday. For many, it was a struggle to reach the office on time.

“At times, visibility dipped so low that despite the fog lamps, I couldn’t see properly,” said a Dubai-Abu Dhabi commuter.

According to the weather centre, temperatures are expected to rise gradually as the day progresses. The fog was already beginning to clear in Dubai by 9am.

Fog slowed down early-morning traffic in most parts of the country. Tailbacks were reported on roads between Sharjah and Dubai, between Dubai and Abu Dhabi and on some internal routes in Dubai and Sharjah.

Dubai Police, in a Twitter message, urged motorists to stick to traffic rules and drive carefully.
