Al Ain: Weather will begin settling down from Monday after the five days fracas leaving behind partly cloudy and cool conditions all over the emirates.

Rain has been recorded in most parts of the country, but it was less than the expected amount. The highest amount of rain was received in Ras Al Khaimah (7.4mm) in the last three days followed by Sharjah (3.7mm), and Dubai (1mm), said a duty forecaster at Dubai Meteorological Office (DMO) on Sunday.

He said the system has moved away from the UAE and its current impact is mostly on Pakistan’s south-western region. On Sunday, heavy rain and thunderstorm was reported from Muscat and some other parts of Oman.

The Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has reported different rainfall readings, saying that Wadi Al Bih received 10.8mm rain, followed by Khatam Al Shakla (a suburban town of Al Ain) 9.6mm, Al Ain city 3.4mm, Jebel Hafeet 4.8mm, Abu Dhabi Airport 0.6mm, and Sharjah Airport 2.7mm.

Some more scattered rain was recorded on Sunday in Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah and some other areas.

The weather system, which stared from last Wednesday, was drawing moisture from Ethiopia and Indian Ocean. A long trail of clouds was moving from Africa, via Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE towards Eastern Iran and Pakistan. The system has been giving heavy rain and snow fall in Iran and northern Pakistan.

Forecaster at the DMO, said the weather will start improving from Monday, with partly cloudy conditions across the emirates. "The condition will be windy (Monday) with maximum temperature of 24 degree Celsius in Dubai," he said. Temperature will slightly fall on Tuesday and conditions will be fine and sunny from Wednesday onward.

According to the NCMS forecast for the next 24 hours, conditions will be partly cloudy at times, especially over the eastern and southern areas on Monday. Winds might cause blowing dust over open areas and sea will be rough but its intensity will decrease gradually at night.

Relative humidity will increase during night and early morning over coastal and internal areas. Condition will also be partly cloudy in general on Tuesday with moderate to light winds. Raising humidity, however, could cause mist or fog in some areas.

On Sunday temperature remained between 15 to 23c in the coastal areas, 11 to 25c in the interior areas, and 08 to 19c in the mountainous areas.
